Our guest dancer of the week is the talented Milena Hiza! At 10 years old, she has overcome stage fright, bullying and the competitive nature of the dance industry. She has come out of all that with a positive attitude and incredible talent!

I am Milena Hiza, a 10 year old
dancer and aspiring professional dancer and model from New Jersey.
My dreams
include being on the cover of a magazine, acting on a television show, and
being on Broadway.
I love animals, nature, drawing and painting. I especially
love make-up. I also love the beach!
I started dancing when I was 2 1/2 years old. I
just loved it and kept dancing throughout the years.
I currently perform all
styles of dance. I am a competitive dancer and train every day.
My favorite
style of dance is contemporary. I also love lyrical and musical theatre.

My greatest accomplishment in my dance career so
far has been overcoming stage fright.
I started performing on stage as a
soloist at 6 years old. I used to be so nervous.
I even slipped and fell during
two separate performances but I got right back up with a smile and kept
dancing.
My most memorable moment is from my first solo
Baby Take a Bow and having to jump off a chair.
At the time the chair seemed so
high off the ground. I saved the chair and it's so funny to see how little the
chair is to me now.
My greatest challenge has been dealing with the
competitive nature of the dance industry.
I was recently bullied by a dancer. I
have really grown from this experience and learned how to help others.
My advice to other dancers is to stay positive
and focus on yourself.
Don't ever let anyone bring you down because we are all
special and unique in our own way.
