1. Tell us a little about yourself?

Genevieve Carlson, a 15-year-old dancer at Master Ballet Academy Advanced Pre Professional program, homeschool and travel for modeling and performing!

2. How long have you been dancing for?

8 years dancing, 2 years in an intensive ballet program.

3. What styles of dance do you specialize in?

Ballet and contemporary

4. What made you want to start dancing?

My mom training in classical ballet and she is very encouraging. I like training, not I really love performing. I have also performed with my school choir and in three local plays. I love the stage.

5. What has been your greatest accomplishment in your dance career?

I won first place teen overall at Spotlight Dance Cup. I competed in my first ballet competition last year and was in the top 24 at YAGP.

6. What has been your most memorable moment?

When I went to the PNB summer intensive and was invited back into their intensive program. I had been competing for awhile and it was the moment I decided that I wanted to pursue ballet exclusively.

7. What has been your greatest challenge?

Focusing on my personal growth and not comparing myself to others.

8. What advice would you give to other dancers?

Find out what you do best and build on that strength. Develop relaxation habits and build them into your day. Artists need clear heads to create and focus.
